In one of the Elluminate calls I brought what I thought was an interesting point about research. This is my first graduate level class so this level of reasrch and writing is new to me. I am begining to understand how to research, but sometimes I am not sure what is a good, or valid piece of literature to use. I mentioned that a good class would be one that covers methods of research, and more importantly, what makes a piece of research better than another.
You know, I do think they have classes for that sort of thing. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut I know what you mean, being a first-year Graduate student myself. Though I hope that my level of research is high-level enough, I really have no grading scale to compare to, other than what students and teachers tell me.
I think though that part of being in a graduate degree is knowing yourself how much research you need for projects. I think, also, that if your teacher knows you have less experience as a grad student, they might be a little more lenient on you.
At least, I HOPE they are.
And now for my personal plug for the day. I'm linking your blog to mine, so if you would visit my blog here: http://newmediastudentjamesraskopf.edublogs.org/ There's going to be an interesting post tonight and I'm looking for people to be involved. See you there!
